I’m a day behind on this email… which feels very on-brand right now. 😂
Blame the travel, the time zones, and the fact that we’re currently back in the US, living in an RV with the kids. 🇺🇸
Yes… an actual moving house.
Yes… with WiFi.
And yes… I’m still working.
I’ve been sharing bits of it over on Instagram if you want the behind-the-scenes (very real, slightly chaotic, zero aesthetic pressure).
Current office view… not exactly the usual setup 😅
I had one of those pause-and-laugh-a-little moments this week.
I was sitting there, laptop open, kids in the background asking for snacks (again), parked somewhere like this, jumping on sales calls like it was any other Monday.
And it just hit me…
This is the thing we were trying to build.
Not the Pinterest version.
Not the “one day when things calm down” version.
This one.
A bit messy.
A bit loud.
But actually working.
Sales calls are happening in the afternoons, which (accidentally, but I’ll take it) lines up perfectly with mornings in Australia.
So mornings = kids, slow starts, figuring out where we even are 😂
Afternoons = calls, follow-ups, actual work
Evenings = back to family mode
Nothing fancy.
But it works.
One day last week, I had four sales calls.
The day after that, two.
And both of those turned into new clients, which still feels slightly ridiculous when I think about where I’m sitting while having those conversations.
Also, a quick moment of appreciation for Starlink, because it is doing some heavy lifting right now.
Without it, this email would probably be titled “we tried” instead of “it’s working.”
It’s funny… this doesn’t even feel unusual anymore. It just feels like our life right now.
Some days feel like a win.
Some days feel like… we survived that.
But it doesn’t feel like a hustle.
It just feels like we built something that can move with us.
And I think that’s the shift.
Not trying to fit life around the business.
But building the business in a way that actually fits life.
Anyway, that’s a little update from this very non-standard office setup. 😝
