Why Your Email Volume Dropped—and How to Fix It Fast!

As we enter into the most important days of the holiday season, have you noticed a sudden dip in your email send volumes?

Don’t worry—you’re not alone, and there’s a solution.

What's Happening?

If your Klaviyo Sender Score drops below 50, it can trigger the Reputation Repair feature. This is Klaviyo’s automatic safeguard to help you recover your email deliverability and avoid future reputation issues.

Why does this matter?

When your reputation dips, it can limit the reach of your emails, meaning fewer customers are receiving your messages—just when you need them most! The last thing you want is to miss out on holiday sales because your emails aren’t landing in inboxes.

How to Fix It FAST

Here’s what you can do:

  • Check Your Sender Score – If it’s under 50, you’re at risk of having your send volume reduced.
  • Review the Impact – Take a quick look at your campaigns to see if volume has already been restricted.
  • Disable Reputation Repair (if needed) – If you’re comfortable with your deliverability and don’t want the feature limiting your sends, you can opt to turn it off.

But here's the thing—Reputation Repair isn’t a punishment. It's a helpful tool that gives you the ability to gradually improve your deliverability score.

What is Klaviyo Reputation Repair?

Klaviyo's Reputation Repair feature is a game-changer when it comes to fixing poor deliverability. It focuses on getting your emails back to a healthy deliverability rate, so they land in the inbox where they belong.

How it works:
If your score drops below 50, Klaviyo will automatically limit your sends to only those subscribers who have engaged with your emails in the last 30 days. Gradually, this window will expand, giving you a chance to restore your reputation as you build engagement.

What You Should Know:

  • It’s gradual: The window expands to 60, 90, and even 120 days of engagement as your reputation improves.
  • It’s not immediate: Depending on how often you send campaigns, it can take 20 days to 3 months for your reputation to fully recover.
  • It’s better to be proactive: The earlier you start working on this, the quicker you can get back to sending at full volume!
